In 2007, around 650,000 wrote the making it one of the largest such admission exams in the world.[1]
All candidates, with the exception of those performing very poorly, are eligible either for central counselling or state-specific or category-specific counselling on basis of their AIR. Counselling for SC/ST candidates and SC/ST physically handicapped candidates is done on the first two days of counselling. Then the physically handicapped in the Open (OP) category are counselled.
The Pattern keeps varying every year as declared by CBSE, the conducting authority of AIEEE. The level of questions follows the NCERT Syllabus of Class 11 and Class 12. From the past 2 years the total marks of the paper is being declared by CBSE in the prospectus without declaring the number of the questions appearing in the exam on the lines of IIT JEE.

AIEEE 2008 exam date declared
New Delhi: The seventh All India Engineering / Architecture Entrance Examination (AIEEE) for next academic session will be held on 27th April 2008 at various centres across the country. The Ministry of Human Resource Development has given the directives in this regard.
AIEEE is a national level entrance test for admission to Engineering, Architecture and Planning degree courses in different engineering colleges and institutes in the country. The exam is conducted by Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), and Department of Secondary & Higher Education, Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD) in compliance with the directives of the Government of India (GOI).
The entrance test consists of two papers, the first part deals with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics for BE and BTech courses and second paper includes mathematics aptitude test, and drawing for B Architecture and B Planning.

All India Engineering/Architecture Entrance Examination (AIEEE ) 2008 for admission to Engineering and Architecture (including Planning) programmes at the undergraduate level in the country is being conducted by CBSE
The exam date for All India Engineering Entrance Examination had been announced quite some time back i.e. 27th April 2008. The date for forms availability has not been announced yet but as usual the forms for AIEEE 2008 examination will be available towards November end or early December.

All India Engineering Entrance Examination (AIEEE) is held for the candidates seeking admission to Engineering, Architecture, Planning and Pharmacy degree courses in different engineering colleges and institutes in India.
